Chapmanville Post Office.
 
Post Office open June 17, 1879 and ran to April 27, 1882  First Postmaster was Augusta C. Chapman, name changed to Idana.

When the Leavenworth Kansas Western Rail Road passed through Five Creek township in 1882, it missed Chapmanville about a half mile so the town moved about two to three miles east and call the new town Idana.

Idana Post Office open April 27, 1882 and ran to April 18, 1980, Mrs, S. A. Roberts was first Postmaster.  Name changed from Chapmanville.

Idana Kansas, 1912.
 
Idana, a village in Clay county, is located in Five Creeks township on the Union Pacific R. R., 8 miles west of Clay Center, the county seat. It has about 25 business establishments, among which is a bank. There is a telegraph ofifice and a money order postoffice with one rural route. The population in 1910 was 225.
