John Stigge.
Birth: Jan. 27, 1839, Gros-herzogthum, Oldenburg, Germany.
Death: Mar. 20, 1914.
Wife: Caroline Stigge (1860 - 1943).
Children: Edward Stigge (1882 - 1965), Fred, Alva, Martha, Lily and Alma Stigge..
Burial: Saint Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Barnes, Washington County, Kansas.
Mr. Stigge came to Kansas in 1870, and settled in section 20, of Lincoln township of Washington county, Kansas. He was a farmer and stock raiser. In 1882 he own 80 acres of section 20, by 1906 he own 480 acres of the same section. His post office address was Chepstow, Kansas, which is a little more then a mile north of the farm.
