Homestead, a country postoffice in Chase county, is located 15 miles southwest of Cottonwood Falls, the county seat, and 12 miles southeast of Clements, on the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe R. R., the nearest shipping point and railroad station. The population according to the census of 1910 was 40.
