Mark Leonedas Knowlton.

Birth: Nov. 1, 1841, Ohio.
Death: Feb. 5, 1913.

Wife: Harriet B. Beatty Knowlton (1861 - 1927), Born North Carolina..

Children: Fred and Austin Knowlton.

M.L. Knowlton married Harriet B. Beatty on Nov 10, 1890.

Burial: Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Sumner County, Kansas.

Mr.  Knowlton came to Sumner County in 1870, was a Farmer and Stock Raiser, settled in section 8, of Val Verde Township where he owned 160 acres.  He also owned other land in section 6, 312.72, acres and section 18, 80, acres in all 552 acres.  His post office address was Oxford, Kansas which was about 9 miles north-east of the farm.

He was also a Civil War veteran enlisted in the 101st., Ohio infantry, Co. K., August 14, 1862, as a private, for 3 years, age 21.  Wounded December 31, 1862, in the battle of Stone river, Tennessee.  Mustered out with company June 12, 1865.
