Mr. Newberry came to Harper county in 1878, and settled in section 35, of Silver Creek township. He was a Farmer and Stock Raiser on his 480 acre farm, of which 160 acres was in section 36. His post office address was Freeport, Kansas, which was 7 miles north-west of the farm.
