Mr.Summers came to Graham county, Kansas, in 1890, he settled in section 12,of Millbrook township. He was a Farmer on his 320 acres of land. His post office address was Hill City,Kansas, which was 8 to 9 miles north east from the farm.
He was a Civil War veteran, being in the 33rd.,Illinois Infantry, Co. G. Residence Concord,Enlisted August 20, 1861, Mustered out December 6, 1865. Promoted Corporal; Discharged with Regiment; Veteran. At the time of his enlistment his age 21; Height 5 feet 9 inches;Hair light; Eyes Blue; Complexion Light.
