Peter "Pete" Hoover. 

Birth: Jun. 4, 1849, Baltimore County, Maryland.
Death: Sept. 19, 1919, Barber County,Kansas.

Married Rose M. Frank in 1875. They had three children: Bert, J.H., and Mrs. R.C. Curry. He separated from his wife in 1884.

He married Maggie Priest in 1904. He was also survived by a sister, Mrs. Caroline Harris, and a brother, Howard Hoover, both of Baltimore, Maryland.

Burial: Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge,Barber County, Kansas.

Mr.Hoover came to Barber County, Kansas,in 1884.  Settled in section 28, of township 32 range 13.  He was a farmer and stock raiser.  By 1905 he owned well over 1000 acres of land.  He owned land in sections 20,21, 28, 29,30, 31,and 33.
