Four Little Unknown Kansas Towns.

Dubuque, Kansas.

Dubuque, a little village of Center township, Russell county, is located near the head of Beaver creek, about 20 miles southeast of Russell, the county seat. It was formerly a postofifice, but after the introduction of the rural deliver)' system the office was discontinued, the people now receiving mail through the office at Dorrance, which is the most convenient railroad station. The population in 1910 was 26.  Dubuque Post Office was Estb. in Barion County, open Feb. 17, 1879 and ran to April 30, 1909.

Aetna Kansas.

Aetna, a village of Barber county, is located near the southwestern corner in Aetna township, about 30 miles from Medicine Lodge, the county seat. It is connected by stage line with Lake City, which is the
most convenient railroad station. It is a trading center for the neighborhood, has a money order postoffice, and in 1910 reported a population of 25.  Aetna Postoffice started in Comanche County, August 27, 1885 Through October 15, 1912.  Reopen in Aetna on June 6, 1913 through March 31, 1946.

Bunkerhill Kansas.

Bunkerhill, an incorporated city of the third class in Russell county, is located in Center township, and is a station on the Union Pacific R. R. 9 miles east of Russell, the county seat. It has a bank, a money order postoffice with three rural routes, telegraph and express 'offices, telephone connections, a graded public school, an opera house, hotel, grain elevator, machine shop, a cornet band, Protestant churches. and in 1910 reported a population of 242.  Bunkerhill, Postoffice open December 12, 1894, and ran to August 1, 1950.

Cairo Kansas.

Cairo, a village of Pratt county, is a station on the ^^''ichita & Pratt division of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe R. R., 11 miles east of  Pratt, the county seat. It has a money order postoffice, express office, some good general stores, a flour mill, and is a shipping point for the surrounding country. The population was 40 in 1910.  Cairo Postoffice got its start in Irene and ran from February 1887 to December 31, 1922, moved to Cairo and open on March 11, 1919 and ran to January 14, 1922.
