He lived in Chorokee, County Kansas, in the town of Baxter Springs.  He was the Editor and Proprietor of the "Baxter News", In 1916, he was Post Master.

Mr Hannon came to Butler County, Kansas in 1884. He settled in section 21 of Little Walnut township in the town of Leon, Kansas.  He was a Farmer and Stock Raiser, he had a small amount of acreage at the south end of town.

SAMUEL G. MEAD.

S. G. MEAD, editor of the McPherson Republican, was born in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Conn., March 25, 1835. He learned most of the details applying to a newspaper in the City of New York, before pursuing an accademc (sic) and a collegiate course at the New Britain and Yale institutions. At the latter college he pursued a special course under the guidance of the faculty, graduated in 1855, then taught school and engaged in various occupations, mostly of an educational character, in Connecticut and New York.

From New York City he came west to Liberty, Ind., and after teaching school for a time he formed a newspaper partnership in the publication of the Herald, under the firm name of Stivers & Mead. This was in 1866. In June, 1868, Mr. Mead came to Kansas and settled in Greenwood County, where he engaged in the publication of the Eureka Herald. In 1878, he sold out his interest in the paper, and in December, 1879, as stated, he came to McPherson and commenced the publication of the Republican. Mr. Mead held many offices of a public nature, being Superintendent of Public Instruction in Indiana, before coming to Kansas, but he is best known as an editor and a publisher, facts connected with his public life are not recorded.

In 1903 he was living in Greenwood County, Kansas in the township of Eureka in the town of Eureka, Kansas.  There he was the Proprietor of a Livery and Freed Stable.

Children: in 1900, they had two living children, but names where not found.

Grandsons: Carl Alonzo Goodrich, John S. Bearly, Glenn Bearly, Floyd Bearly, Carl Sabine.

Burial: Goodrich Cemetery, Goodrich, Linn County, Kansas.

Mr. Goodrich came to Linn county , Kansas and settled in Liberty Township in the town of Parker, Kansas, he was a Farmer.  Later moved to Goodrich, Kansas, where he was the Proprietor of the Liberty Feed and Sale Stable.  He was also a Civil War Veteran.

Mr. Cross came to Lane County, Kansas, and settled in section 34, of Cheyenne Township, in 1909-1910.  He was a Farmer on his 160 acres of land, which was in his and wife names. Their post office address was Healy Kansas, which was one mile south west from the farm.
